Certain letter combinations or blocks occur frequently in words. Practicing typing these blocks enables you to type common words and phrases faster, which increases your overall typing efficiency and productivity.
5 Touch typing tips to consider:
- Negative Tilt Keyboard : If possible, use a keyboard with a negative tilt to reduce wrist extension.
- Type Common Words : Practice typing common words repeatedly to improve speed.
- Monitor Stability : Make sure your monitor is stable and doesn't wobble during typing or movement.
- Finger Assignments : Each finger is responsible for certain keys. Use the appropriate finger to press the key without looking at the keyboard. Your index fingers are responsible for the keys "F" and "J," which often have tactile markers on them to help you find the home row without looking.
- Finger Stretches : Gently stretch each finger by pulling it back and holding for a few seconds.
